We are seeking an ambitious and highly organized Associate Project Director to join our growing team. This role is ideal for an emerging project professional looking to gain hands-on experience managing complex technology projects while working alongside some of the industry's most experienced Project Directors, Engineers, and Construction

Based between our Carlstadt, NJ headquarters and Midtown Manhattan office, this position offers a unique opportunity to participate in every phase of project delivery—from design and engineering through construction, commissioning, and client handoff.
What You'll Do
Project Ownership & Coordination: Support Project Directors in managing IT, AV, Security, and Low Voltage projects from contract award through final completion.Serve as a primary point of coordination between clients, consultants, vendors, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
Track project milestones, deliverables, budgets, schedules, and action items to ensure successful execution.
Assist with project planning, resource allocation, and risk identification throughout the project lifecycle.
Maintain accurate project documentation, meeting notes, reports, and status updates.
Design & Engineering Phase: Facilitate the design process in collaboration with clients, architects, consultants, and Data-Tele's engineering team.
Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, furniture vendors, and construction teams to ensure technology requirements are fully integrated into project designs.
Assist in the development, review, and distribution of design documents,
submittals, and shop drawings.Review project drawings and specifications to identify potential conflicts, scope gaps, and coordination opportunities.
Participate in design review meetings and help drive resolution of technical and construction-related issues.
Construction & Implementation Phase: Coordinate with General Contractors, Owners, Architects, Engineers, and Vendor Partners to ensure alignment throughout construction.
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, milestone trackers, and
procurement logs.Collaborate with internal operations teams to ensure equipment is ordered, tracked, delivered, and installed according to project schedules.
Create and distribute lead-time matrices and procurement status reports.
Attend weekly project meetings, site walks, and construction coordination
meetings throughout the NY/NJ metropolitan area.Monitor project progress and proactively identify scheduling, procurement, or construction challenges before they impact delivery.
Project Closeout: Coordinate project punch lists, testing, commissioning, training, and final turnover documentation.
Ensure all project documentation, warranties, as-built drawings, and closeout materials are completed and delivered.
Support final client handoff activities and contribute to overall customer
satisfaction.What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business,
Information Technology, Architecture, or a related field preferred.1-3 years of experience in construction, project coordination, technology integration, engineering, or a related industry preferred.
Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Outlook, Word, and
Project scheduling tools.Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt within a fast-paced project
environment.Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the NY/NJ metropolitan area for project meetings and site visits.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $50,000 – $75,000+ annually (commensurate with experience)Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Carlstadt Office: 2 days per week
Midtown Manhattan Office: 2 days per week

Bachelor’s degree with 1–3 years of professional experience in engineering, information technology, audiovisual, security, construction, or a related field.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills—able to collaborate effectively while working independently.
